The Dart Family Blog

Welcome to our Blog. We decided, as a new year's resolution, to make an attempt to keep in better touch with our family and friends throughout the world this year. So this blog is a feeble attempt at letting you all know how we are and what we're up to.

Kyle will be starting his last semester of law school at the University of Denver in January. He has loved every minute of school, but he is definitely looking forward to entering the working class. He has really taken an interest in civil litigation, and though his humility will not allow him to admit it, he is very good at it. He and a classmate competed in the Hoffman Cup mock trial competition last fall and made it to the final round. He ended up being ranked fifth orator in the whole law school. We were very proud of him! He also recently passed the ethics portion of the BAR with flying colors and for that we are very thankful. After graduation in May, Kyle will be working in Morehead City for the law firm of Kirkman, Whitford, and Brady. He inturned there the past two summers and loved the firm, so he is thrilled to have this opportunity. In his spare time between class, studying, and being a husband and father, he works for a venture capitalist firm called Tivis Ventures. He is learning a lot and making a little extra money, so we're thankful for that.

This past year was eventful for the boys and me. Zac, our three year-old, is such as cute little boy. He absolutely LOVES baseball. He not only loves the game itself, but he loves baseball trivia and learning neat facts about the game. If he's not playing baseball and pretending to be Chipper Jones or Benny the Jet Rodriguez (a character from the Sandlot), then he will certainly find the closest football, basketball, soccer ball, tennis racket, hockey stick, golf club, or anything else that has something to do with sports. He's a smart boy and loves to tell me his letters and the sounds they make. He loves the Beach Boys and can sing along word-for-word to a number of their songs.

Will, who turned one on Thanksgiving Day, is a sweetheart. He's a mama's boy, but I think most one year-olds are. He loves to dance to whatever music I turn on and he has the sweetest little smile. He has taken after his brother and is already picking up a bat and swinging at whatever ball he can find. He can say quite a few words now and it's fun watching him grow and develop. He and Zac are so cute together. It is obvious they really love and enjoy each other.

I have been staying busy with being a mom and wife. I love every minute of it. I also started a photography business in the fall and that is keeping me busy. My website is www.alydart.com so please feel free to check it out. I am currently serving in our ward as a primary teacher and I enjoy that very much. We are so thankful for our ward family in Colorado who have taken us in and taken care of us over the past few years.

We hope you are all doing well and that your Christmas was fun and relaxing. Happy New Year to you all!

Love, Aly

Aly,
I was over at Leah's last night and she showed me your blog. I am so excited to see cute pictures of your boys! I'm also glad that you are moving back to NC-- we will have to get together sometime. I loved the pictures you took of Jamie's family and Kellie's family. Maybe this summer you can take Kaitlyns--we'll have to plan it. Anyways I can't wait to see future posts on your blog. I'll talk to you later.
